The November Slump
Many marketers panic when they see their metrics dip in November. Before you blame your content, consider the environment.
1. Inbox Saturation
Volume is at an all-time high. Your subscribers are receiving 50% more email than usual. It's harder to get attention.
2. Aggressive Filtering
ISPs tighten their filters in anticipation of holiday spam. Legitimate emails often get caught in the crossfire.
3. Fatigue
Users are saving their attention (and wallets) for Black Friday. They might be ignoring promotional emails until the big deals drop.
The Fix
- Resend to Non-Openers: Change the subject line and try again 48 hours later.
- Check Your Tech: Ensure your DKIM and SPF records haven't broken.
- Focus on Value: Send a non-promotional, helpful email to break the pattern of 'Buy, Buy, Buy'.
- Clean Your List: We can't say this enough. Remove the dead weight to boost your sender score.
